2026 Zeekr X price and specs: Up to $11,000 cheaper with tech, power upgrade
Zeekr has slashed the price of its smallest electric car – while updating the interior and adding features – to boost modest sales and take the fight to BYD, Kia and MG.
- 2026 Zeekr X pricing and specifications
- Small electric SUV updated with more power, new base battery
- Longer standard feature list, tweaked interior
- Priced from less than $50,000 drive-away
The 2026 Zeekr X small electric SUV will receive price cuts of $11,000 – or more – on some model grades when a better-equipped, more powerful iteration arrives in showrooms imminently.
Zeekr has confirmed the updated Model Year 2026 Zeekr X will start from "under $50,000 drive-away" with rear-wheel drive (RWD), or "under $60,000 drive-away" with all-wheel drive (AWD), in all states and territories.
It equates to a price drop of at least $4466 to $7014 for the RWD, and $7727 to $10,888 for the AWD, if the variants are only one dollar below each threshold. Exact RRPs are due next week.
Given drive-away prices are likely to vary between state and territory, as they do on the existing model – and it is unclear how far below $50,000 and $60,000 the variants will be – the updated Zeekr X could be even cheaper.
It brings the entry-level RWD in line with the cheapest Kia EV3, currently on special at $46,990 drive-away, and a top-of-the-range BYD Atto 3 ($46,760 to $49,760, depending on location).
It also leaves space to the larger Zeekr 7X (about $63,000 drive-away in RWD trim), which outsold the Zeekr X two-to-one last year despite the bigger model only being in showrooms for three months.
Exact prices before on-road costs are due to be announced at the Melbourne motor show on 10 April 2026. This story will be updated once they are made public.
Despite the price cut, the RWD gains some features previously limited to a $4000 Convenience Package: heated and ventilated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a six-way power passenger seat with memory, and 13-speaker Yamaha premium audio.
Newly added to the renamed Performance AWD are massaging front seats and a fridge in the centre console, on top of features such as lumbar adjustment and a head-up display not available on the RWD.
Exterior styling updates are limited to new Onyx Black and matte Khaki Green paint for all-wheel-drive versions, which also gain the option of power-operated front doors.
Inside, there is a new centre console with an enclosed storage area and a repositioned wireless phone charger – now a 50-watt pad with ventilation – plus quilting on the seats and door panels.
The steering wheel gains a row of touch-sensitive shortcuts for door locks, parking cameras, defrosters and the power tailgate.
Boot space has grown from 342 litres to 404 litres thanks to increased under-floor storage, while the AWD is now available with a 'black pack' adding black 20-inch wheels, black upholstery, and red contrast stitching.
All Zeekr X variants have gained a new 250kW/373Nm rear electric motor – up from 200kW/343Nm – which, in the AWD, boosts outputs from 315kW/543Nm to 365kW/573Nm.
Zero to 100km/h acceleration times are claimed at 5.6 seconds for the RWD and 3.7 seconds for the AWD – the latter 0.1sec quicker.
The RWD gains a new 61kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, accompanied by a shorter range rating – now 405km WLTP, down from about 440km – but faster charging, claiming up to 230kW DC for a a 10 to 80 per cent recharge in 18 minutes.
Its predecessor's battery remains in the AWD, a 66kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery carrying a 415km WLTP range rating and 150kW DC charging for a 30-minute 10 to 80 per cent charge claim.
AC charging has improved for both variants, now 11kW in the RWD (up from 7.2kW) and 22kW for the AWD (up from 11kW).
The 2026 Zeekr X is due to open for orders in the coming weeks, once full prices are announced at the Melbourne motor show on 10 April.
